Hartley Avenue Recycling Drop-Off Center
This facility is located at 3600 Hartley Ave. - West of Greenwood Ave. The facility takes the same items recycled curbside. The center accepts yard waste and scrap metal (washers, dryers, hot water heaters, bicycles, microwaves, BBQ grill-gas and/or charcoal removed, lawnmowers-oil and gas removed) and various other metal items. Cardboard does not have to be flattened and paper and newspaper does not have to be bundled. This center also accepts recyclables from commercial and business facilities.
The center will accept three (3) 3 ft x 3ft bundles, 3 garbage cans or 3 bags of yard waste. There is no restriction on the weight as long as the person bringing the yard waste to the xenter can safely lift the bundle or container into the yard waste dumpster. Bags will need to be emptied into the yard waste dumpster and then disposed of by the resident. Limbs over 3 inches in diameter, grass clippings, stumps or finished wood products are not allowed. No trailer loads are permitted and should be brought to the Berks Street Yard Waste Center. Only Palmer Township residents can bring yard waste to the center.
